Patrick Surtain II
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 202 lbs
Strengths: The son of former Miami Dolphins cornerback Patrick Surtain, you can tell that playing cornerback is in his blood. The way he moves is so polished and fluid it feels like he’s been in the NFL for years. Has the ideal size for the position and is scheme versatile. Plays with quick feet and loose hips that help him react very quickly. Excels in both man and Alabama’s cover 7 matchup zone. Doesn’t possess elite speed but can carry the receiver deep with ease. Plays both bail out and trail techniques very well. Pattern matching is a plus skill for Surtain II as his football IQ is evident in his play.
Weaknesses: Displays solid ball skills but can get washed out in jump ball situations on occasion. Doesn’t display elite athleticism on tape. Would like to see a little better hand usage at the line of scrimmage to knock the receiver off balance.

Patrick Surtain II isn’t the flashiest player in the world, but he is an incredible cornerback. Does everything incredibly well and has zero big holes in his game. The son of former NFL CB that shares his name, the Alabama Crimson Tide player is likely the next big time star in the National Football League. Surtain II is an easy plug and play starter year one and can develop into a true shutdown corner.
