Tyler Forness’ Top 5 – IOL

Tyler Forness’ Top 5 – IOL

In this episode Tyler breaks down the top 5 offensive guards and centers for the draft and suspects that the Vikings would take one or at least the fans want it.

Interior Offensive Linemen

This year’s class of interior offensive lineman is full of variety. From guys with brute power to hyper-quick athletes, it has something for every offense. When I grade, I always grade a player at the position I think they will excel best at in the NFL, so you will see some guys on my list that others will have graded as tackles.

With interior offensive linemen, I grade them very similar to how I grade the tackles: I look for how you win and how you lose. While my scale is technically the same, I value winning against power and establishing your anchor more on the interior than I do with tackles. Even though guards don’t matter, you still need good ones on your team.
