SKOL Search: Ja’Marr Chase Scouting Report

With the Vikings season having wrapped up yesterday, we are officially into the meat of draft season. While we will be talking a lot moving forward about the direction of the team and how they will approach the offseason and roster construction, throughout the process I will be dropping numerous scouting reports and big boards….

SKOL Search: The Vikings Need A Philosophy Shift

Moving forward, this should be the permanent direction of the franchise. For as good as Mike Zimmer has been resurrecting the franchise from seemingly yearly underperformance and disappointment to regularly being talked about as a contender, it’s also obvious that he is to Minnesota as Tony Dungy was to Tampa Bay: a fixer. I will be forever grateful for what Zimmer did to fix the franchise, but the way he wants to win is outdated. This is no longer 1995 where drafting a star running back in the first round can change the fortunes of your franchise and defense truly wins championships. This is the NFL in 2020 where what truly matters in team building has passed this franchise by.

Over the last few days, I have heard a lot of fans loud and clear. We need to take a guard in the first round. I don’t think a reasonable argument can be made against upgrading the guard position. Through the first 5 weeks, PFF has 75 guards with enough snaps to have a grade….

When you love the draft, there is no real offseason. With the college season almost in full swing now,…

Is Daunte Culpepper The Best Vikings Quarterback This Century?

Before you invade my mentions, I really like Kirk Cousins. Cousins is one of the best quarterbacks that has played for my favorite team the Minnesota Vikings in my lifetime. In fact, compared to some of the guys that we have seen start at the position, Cousins looks like an elite quarterback. When you have…

Should The Vikings Trade For Jamal Adams?

Death, taxes, the Jets can’t keep great players happy. Nothing new in the Meadowlands as the Jets have another unhappy superstar. With Darrelle Revis and Sheldon Richardson not too far in the rearview mirror, the Jets have Jamal Adams who is unhappy and wants a trade. Considering how poorly the franchise has been run over…

Why Denzel Mims Is A Great Fit For The Minnesota Vikings

Denzel Mims was a part of the last recruiting class by Art Briles before Briles was dismissed. It makes sense why Mims would have wanted to play for Art Briles, as his offense is ideal for the skill set. That didn’t work out quite as planned with the exit of Briles and Matt Rhule came…

How Does The Christian McCaffrey Extension Impact Dalvin Cook?

Earlier this afternoon, Adam Schefter dropped the bombshell that the Carolina Panthers extended start running back Christian McCaffrey to a 4 year, 64 million dollar contract. At 16 million dollars per season, McCaffrey becomes the highest-paid running back in the history of the National Football League. In an era where the running back has been…
