Another day, another Vikings Training Camp Stock report, and what better way to enjoy your Sunday catching up on who’s trending up and down following the Vikings Night Practice. If you’re new here, this year at Climbing The Pocket, we are going to do our best to report back daily with a Vikings Training Camp Stock Report. Essentially, relaying the information we hear and see from our fellow Vikings beat writers about who is trending up or down at Training Camp, and who we should be watching for in the coming days.

Trending Up๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Jake Browning- This one is a no brainer here. After being thrust into the spotlight after the rest of the QB room was removed from practice due to the NFL’s Covid-19 Protocol, Jake Browning came out of the Vikings NIght Practice with a firm lead on the QB2 job. He handled nearly all of the QB responsibilities and never once threw an INT. On top of that he had some ‘out of this world’ throws. Browning will have a lot more opportunities this week to capitalize on his strong performance last night, given that most of the QB room will be absent this week. The NFL is all about opportunities, and right now this QB2 job is there for the taking this week for Browning.

Adam Thielen- It feels a little weird putting him here but I think this will sort of be just as a reminder to fans that Adam Thielen is still really freaking good. We’ve heard his name per usual throughout camp, but last night he was an often targeted WR and continue to made great catch after great catch, I mean just take a look at the clip above and below this text. He’s in no risk of losing his job, but if he can stay healthy this year, the Vikings truly could have one of the best one-two punches in the NFL with Thielen and Jefferson.

Trending Down๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿ“‰

Kirk Cousins/Kellen Mond/Nate Stanley/Wyatt Davis- Not a whole lot of explanation really needed here. Mond tested positive for Covid-19, and the others were removed due to close contact. Per the NFL Protocol if you’re vaccinated, there is no daily testing, no longer have to quarantine if identified as high-risk, close contact, and donโ€™t have to submit to lengthy entry testing following travel. Which therefore means the players removed from last night’s practice were unvaccinated. I’m not here to go on a rant about vaccines, but if you don’t have one yet, you should get one. This is bigger than football. Mike Zimmer agrees.

Who To Watch๐Ÿ”Ž๐Ÿ”Ž๐Ÿ”Ž

Greg Joseph– Death, Taxes, and Vikings Kickers having issues. Okay, maybe I’m being a bit dramatic, but to be fair I did just put Joseph in the Watch list. He’s been fairly consistent all spring, and has been praised by Zimmer as such. But in the night practice last night he missed a few kicks so for me, that’s someone to keep an eye on as we move forward throughout camp, especially if Riley Patterson comes in and lights it up.

Vikings iOL– We know that there is some shuffling going on between the RG battle and then just depth positions as well, but last night in the Vikings Night Practice we had our own Tanishka in attendance and she has some slight concerns. Monday will be a good test when they are in pads, and hopefully the iOL starts to come together but this battle and group is something to keep an eye on as we drift closer our first preseason game.
