Well folks, we made it. Finally, after a year of no fans, and limited media availability, Vikings Training Camp is here and we all collectively can overreact to clips or rumblings of players from our favorite team running around in shorts. This year at Climbing The Pocket, we are going to do our best to report back daily with a Vikings Training Camp Stock Report. Essentially, relaying the information we hear and see from our fellow Vikings beat writers about who is trending up or down at Training Camp, and who we should be watching for in the coming days. So buckle up and lets get going!

Trending Up ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Kellen Mond– This one should come as no surprise after one day of Vikings Training Camp. The 3rd round draft pick from Texas A&M has a pretty bright spotlight on him, given the hype that surrounds him as a potential Kirk Cousins replacement someday. While he worked primarily with the 3rd string in the teams first practice, he showed a lot of flashes of poise and accuracy after an initial INT from Luther Kirk as he targeted Imir-Smith Marsette. But it’s Mond that would have the last laugh as he dropped one of the highlight plays of the day yesterday, a 40 yard BOMB to Imir-Smith Marsette.

Bashaud Breeland- Here is a guy the Vikings are really counting on coming into this season. After a year with abysmal depth at Corner, the Vikings are attempting to right their wrongs here with this signing. Breeland is a NFL Veteran who brings along with him some swagger and confidence, and that’s exactly what transpired at Vikings Training Camp on Day 1. Although he was limited in practice as he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery, he shined when given his opportunities, ending his day with 1 INT and 1 PBU.

Trending Down ๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿ“‰

Chad Beebe/Bisi Johnson– This one is a little bit tougher for me since it’s only one day at Training Camp, and you’d really have to put on a horrific show to be trending down, but for now I’ll put these two. It’s not so much that they really performed poorly yesterday, but I think it’s worth highlighting given the fact that they have a lot of competition now at WR3. Flash back to a year ago and these two were competing for our WR2/3 positions and now here were are and they could potentially be fighting for a roster spot. There’s a lot of camp left for them to boost their stock, but given then sudden depth at WR, these two are starting when a negative stock for me.

Christian Darrisaw– Go ahead, roast me. But I’m applying the same logic as above. I’m putting Darrisaw as trending down to start camp, and it’s really not his fault. He’s coming off an injury and the Vikings are going to continue to ease him into the starting lineup. That being said, he’s missing out on some valuable playing time, and we know the Vikings are comfortable for now with Rashod Hill manning the left side of the line. Darrisaw will be able to take his time in coming back from that injury and can definitely start trending up when he returns. But as we start camp he’s in a little bit of a hole.

Who To Watch ๐Ÿ”Ž๐Ÿ”Ž๐Ÿ”Ž

Janarius Robinson– Here is a guy to continue to keep an eye on! A 4th round pick out of Florida State who has some incredible length and burst, he should have every opportunity to try and win the DE job opposite Danielle Hunter. In the clip above where Kellen Mond threw the 40 yard TD, Robinson nearly had a strip sack

Combine that awesome rep with the fact that he is taking pointers from Hunter, and really trying to soak up information from him, leaves Robinson as one of my guys to watch throughout Training Camp!

K.J. Osborn– I can hear you all now. “Gross, what? That dude sucks”. I get it, it’s not a popular name, but in both pressers by Zim and Rick, they brought his name up unprompted and praised him about what he brought to the table this spring. Combine that with the fact that there will be plenty of opportunities to impress at WR3/4 this camp, I think that Osborn could be a guy we want to keep an eye on. And also who doesnโ€™t like a guy who stays late at camp ๐Ÿ˜†
