It is that time of year to fire up the 2021 version of the CTP Vikings Free Agent Tracker.
All the Vikings FAs of each type have been added. Any other player that gets cut or traded, and we all know that will happen for various reasons, will be added when those transactions are announced, same as any new players that the team sign. I have added a couple of new columns to this year’s table, the player’s age and their Over The Cap valuation. The OTC valuation is a metric based on player statistics over the last 2 years, years total played, average annual value and guarantees, plus a dash of their secret sauce [their algorithm]. The valuation is basically what they think the player’s new salary should be. It is their numbers and not what the team or a new team values them at and is willing to pay. I also included for this post the cost of vet minimum salaries from last year. I suspect they will stay the same with the cap dropping. They will give you a good cost idea.
Important dates ahead to keep in mind, however we all know that deals have already been announced for the likes of Matt Stafford and Carson Wentz and some announced releases like JJ Watt.
