The Minnesota Vikings defense in 2020. In the final episode, part 3, the Vikes’ linebackers and defensive line look to be set. Returning LBs like one of the best in the NFL, Eric Kendricks will be back to see if he can repeat his league leading performance from last season. Anthony Barr remains in his key role as well. Then look to see Eric Wilson start with them in the base due to Ben Gedeon being on the PUP and rookie Troy Dye as a backup. It starts to get interesting when you add Dom Capers as an advisor and wonder how the LBs will be utilized in blitzes he inspired.
In front of the linebackers the defensive line group. The big news is the trade for Yannick Ngakoue. Yannick is an outstanding young defensive end who in 4 years in the league has 244 pressures, 40 sacks, 67 tackles for loss and 14 forced fumbles. Not bad to pair with Danielle Hunter. Ifeadi Odenigbo looks to be the key reliever in the rotation and move to the inside on passing downs. In the middle after Michael Pierce opted out, the nose looks to be a combination of Shamar Stephen, Armon Watts, and Jaleel Johnson. The goal for Mike Zimmer and Andre Patterson looks to be to maintain or improve the pass rush, and add twists with Caper’s knowledge. It should be fun to watch. Do you think the D-line has improved?
