For 51 years the Minnesota Vikings have held training camp in Mankato, MN. In 2018 that streak will likely come to an end, as the Vikings announce they will move to the TCO Performance Center. The Vikings new Training facility will be the new location for all things Vikings in Eagan, MN.

2017 will be the final year in Mankato, and the Vikings will likely make this last training camp a special one. The team announced on their official page they intend to move, but nothing is set in stone as the Vikings still have an agreement with Mankato through 2018. Fans will remember the long trip to Mankato, the various places to eat, and the yearly night practice that brought most of Minnesota faithful to Mankato. Players will no longer spend most of their training camp days in college dorms or on dorm beds.

The move to Eagan was an inevitable one that became an offseason talking point, but the Vikings deflected for a while until today. This move to Eagan signifies the Vikings desire to create a new atmosphere around Vikings football. Building new traditions, changing the culture, and enhancing the fan experience is only the start to a new Minnesota Vikings team. A championship is all that is left to complete the rebranding of an exciting Vikings team heading in the right direction.
